With a goal of sending 10 gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender delegates to Denver in August for the Democratic National Convention, Georgia achieved in electing eight during its final delegate election May 24, according to the state Democratic Party.

The Georgia gay at-large delegates approved at the May 24 State Committee Meeting are Sen. Hillary Clinton delegates Patty Payne on the Rules Committee and Jeffery Meeks as an at-large alternate. Other gay Clinton delegates are Miguel Gallegos and Morris P. Steward.
